Housed within our lovingly restored 1950s shearing shed, the Woolshed Series represents Austin’s in its most personal form. These are wines made by hand, in small batches, and available only through our cellar door or special release events. Crafted with care, curiosity, and creativity, the Woolshed Series is a rare glimpse into the heart of our winemaking craft.

The Woolshed Story

Once a working shearing shed on our Sutherlands Creek property, the Woolshed has become the symbolic and physical heart of Austin’s. Reimagined by Matt  Goodman Architecture as our cellar door, it now hosts intimate tastings, and events that compliment the Woolshed Series. 

Every beam and board tells a story of heritage, craftsmanship, and renewal. The same spirit that once fuelled the farm’s work now inspires the creation of wines that celebrate authenticity and place.

Behind the Winemaking

The Woolshed Series is where we explore. Each vintage, our winemakers hand-pick small parcels from the vineyard and experiment with different methods to capture new dimensions of flavour and texture.

  • Micro-batch fermentation – small lots crafted for individuality.

  • Experimental techniques – wild ferments, extended lees contact, or concrete vessel.

  • Precision blending – focusing on balance, purity, and complexity.
