At Austins Wines our “sense of place” is derived from being in the heart
of the Moorabool Valley, a sub-region of the Geelong Wine Region,
nestled between Ballarat and Geelong. Just an hour’s drive from
Melbourne, a growing group of family-owned and operated wineries
produce some top drops in this tough, cool climate. We’re one of them!
Our fast-growing regional reputation for boutique winemakers and
premium hand-crafted wines has encouraged us to come together as a
group, to promote the values and produce of the Moorabool Valley.
The region’s wine history dates back to 1842, with the real renaissance
story being the 1960s. Today, around a dozen passionate families
continue the tradition. Many have cellar doors and invite you to come
and meet the winemakers and other characters who are steadily building
this beautiful place into a renowned wine region in its own right.
The Moorabool Valley Wine group was showcased at a launch event on 18
February. Austins Wines is proud to be part of this ardent group of
